WhatsApp’s redesigned disappearing messages section

A previous article released by WABetaInfo, the leading WhatsApp news source reported about WhatsApp beta for Android update. In this article, the news portal mentioned that the Meta-owned company was planning to bring a redesigned section within the app’s privacy settings.

With this new section, you will be able to manage disappearing messages on your WhatsApp account. As per the reports, later the platform rolled out some other versions of the feature.

According to the reports in this current beta update, the company is finally rolling out the redesigned disappearing messages section to some select beta testers. To check if this new design is already activated for your WhatsApp account first open your WhatsApp account. Then go to your WhatsApp settings.

After this tap on the privacy section. When you click this option disappearing messages section which was earlier called ‘default message time’ will open up. WABetaInfo has also released a screenshot of the feature.

In the image, you can see that there are two options – ‘Default image timer that you can set for your account and ‘Apply timer to chats’ that you can set for your current chats. Although the ability to bulk select active conversations to set them as disappearing messages was already available to users.

But with this update, the company is making it easier for you to apply the default message timer for new chats and set the timer to already active conversation. As mentioned earlier the redesigned disappearing messages section is currently available only to some select beta testers.

To get this feature to install the latest version of the app. If you still cannot see this new section, this means you have to wait for a future update.
