WhatsApp is working on a new process for a chat transfer feature for beta Android users. In this update, the Meta-owned platform is developing the process of receiving chat history from old Android mobile to a new one. As mentioned in a report, this feature will be available in a future update of the app.

It is popularly known that the instant messaging app keeps bringing new useful features to enhance its user experience. Earlier it rolled out a feature that lets you easily change your mobile device without losing your chat history.

As per the report, this feature would also free you from the trouble of backing up your chats and messages on Google drive while switching to a new phone. This current beta update shares some more details about the same WhatsApp chat transfer feature.

The WhatsApp news reporter also shared a screenshot of the feature. The image reveals the process of how migration will work in the future. As mentioned in the earlier report, to transfer your chat history, first you will have to open the chat transfer section. Then you need to scan the QR code displayed on the new Android device.

In the old phone, you will see a ‘Move chats from old phone’ notification. And the new phone will show ‘Scan QR code with old phone’. After you scan the provided QR code in the new phone your complete chat history will be finally migrated.

This new chat transfer feature will reportedly be a quick option to shift your conversations while switching to a new Android device. However, this feature is currently limited only to Android devices. As it is still under development process the ability to transfer chats is not available to beta testers.

This update is available in the 2.23.2.7 version through the Google Play beta program. There is no news on the final release date of this feature but if there is any new update you will know through an additional article on our website.
