WhatsApp rolling out ‘voice status’ for beta Android

WhatsApp has been recently rolling out a lot of new features back to back. As one of the most in demand messaging platform it is regularly undergoing updates. In this current beta update the company is making new improvements for status updates in a later update of the app.

According to the leading WhatsApp news tracker WABetaInfo, the company plans to extend the functionality for status updates. The news source mentions that the company is adding support for voice notes as status in this latest update. This means you will be able to post voice status just like photo status and video status.

The reliable WhatsApp new source also released a screenshot of this feature. When this feature is released you will get a new icon at the bottom of the status tab. This mic icon will enable you to send voice note to your status update instantly.

However just like only your choose recipients can view your photo or video status updates, the voice notes will also be shared only with your selected contacts. For this you just need to go within your status privacy settings and select the ‘only share with’ option. Notably your voice status will be fully end to end encrypted just as other shared images and videos.
