With Generative AI wallpapers you can now toggle how your lock screen will look like. You can change font styles, custom widget shortcuts, and color palettes.

Custom widget shortcuts allow you to access features like a QR reader or Google Home app with just one click.

In addition, Google has introduced home screen templates which make it easier to select your personal style.

These will adjust depending on your situation with the widgets, for example, the weather app will become more prominent during a storm.

New Lock screen Customization

Android 14 will also support HDR images with Ultra HDR which will make photos appear more vibrant.

Google has also added native spatial audio support, a new media player, and a cross-device copy/paste feature. Notably, Health Connect is built into Android 14.

It stores and encrypts all of your personal health information locally on your device.

You will also get notified if your applications wish to share information about your location with third parties. You will be able to deny access to your location if you choose to.

Wind Up

Android 14 is rolling out on Pixel devices and Android 14 will have improved passkey support which will work for fingerprint authentication in third-party apps.

It will also have an updated 6-digit PIN lock screen option. Google is also introducing accessibility features like magnification that is improved with pinch to zoom as well as changeable magnification sizes.

Android 14 will support faster font size changes with nonlinear scaling for easier legibility.
