What Are Instagram Notes?
You must have observed people sharing a quote, their mood, or music on their profile icon at the top of your inbox.
It’s the notes feature that allows users to share an interactive message with their followers and lasts for 24 hours, like Instagram stories.
Your followers will be able to view these notes and respond to them. You will receive their response on your DMs. It’s a great way to give daily details to your followers, instead of sharing your stories or feeds.
How To Use Instagram Notes?
If you wish to add an Instagram note to your profile, you can use the below steps:
- Launch Instagram on your mobile device and navigate to your Direct message box.
- Tap your profile icon from the top left to open the notes prompt.
- You will get an option to add text, music, or video to your Instagram note.
Other Features Of Instagram Notes
Instagram notes provide flexibility to its users:
- It offers an option to add a 60-character-long text to your notes.
- You can also add music from Instagram’s built-in audio library.
- It offers to add photos and videos to Instagram notes with the latest release.
- You also have an option to either add notes for all your followers who follow you back or your close friends.
What Are The Instagram Notes Updates?
With this latest release, Instagram notes are now providing three functionalities on the platform, as listed below:
1. Prompt
If you now wish to start interacting with your followers, you can add a prompt in a notes section. Your followers can respond to it and kick-start the conversation.
Every reply on the notes will be visible to the user with your profile picture, active status, and replies.
You can add some questions to the prompts to make them more engaging. Don’t worry. Any activities on notes also count as Instagram engagement.
2. Likes
Till now, users didn’t had the option to like a note on Instagram. However, with the new release, if you want, you can react to a note using emojis.
It will be similar to how you reach on Instagram stories or messages. And the poster will get a notification every time someone reacts to their notes.
3. Tag someone
Additionally, notes will now offer an option to tag someone. The follower you will tag on the note will receive a notification and can respond to it.
You can tag someone on your note using the @ icon, followed by their handle.
Why Are You Not Able to Use The Latest Feature on Instagram?
If you are adding notes on Instagram but are not able to tag someone or add a prompt, you can check if you are on the updated Instagram version.
If not, you can go to the app store on your device and install the latest updates on your device.
