Google releases ‘Scheduled Actions’ feature on Gemini recently. It was introduced at the Google I/O 2025 event. This new update brings more power to Gemini AI.
It allows users to schedule tasks for later use. With this, Gemini becomes more than just a chatbot. It acts like a helpful and smart assistant now.
Google Releases ‘Scheduled Actions’ Feature on Gemini: Key Highlights
Scheduled Actions lets you plan your tasks easily. You can ask Gemini to do something later. You can also repeat a task regularly every day. For example, tell Gemini to remind you every morning.
You can only use this if you are subscribed. The feature works for Google AI Pro or Ultra plans. These subscription plans are available only in the US now.
You can schedule a total of 10 tasks only. This includes one-time or repeating tasks together. Gemini may sometimes forget a task or skip it. But you can fix it with a follow-up message.
To view scheduled tasks, go to the Gemini app. Tap your profile, then go to Settings option. From there, select ‘Scheduled Actions’ to manage tasks. You can pause, delete, or cancel actions anytime.
Ways to Use Scheduled Actions in Daily Life
There are many useful ways to use this feature. You can ask Gemini to summarise unread emails daily. For example, tell it to do so every morning. You can also ask it to skip spam emails.
Gemini can also manage your calendar events weekly. It will list appointments using your Google Calendar. You can ask it about distance using Google Maps. It will tell you how long each trip will take.
Another great use is scheduling future questions. For example, ask Gemini to tell you Oscar winners. You will get the answer after the event finishes. You can also ask for game reviews after release.
Gemini also supports older chat prompts as tasks. You can set them as future reminders easily.
Future Potential: Agent Mode Coming Soon
Google showed a demo of a future feature. It is called Agent Mode, and it is not ready yet. In that demo, Gemini searched for flats every week. Then it sent a summary to the user inbox.
Agent Mode will make Gemini act on its own. It will not wait for commands or user input. Right now, Gemini still needs direct instructions to work. But this shows how advanced AI will become.
Google releases ‘Scheduled Actions’ feature on Gemini to help users. Though only for paid US users, it’s very useful. This is a strong step toward smart AI assistants. Gemini will soon become more proactive and intelligent.
